After exploring the historic streets of Bath, we stumbled upon the Coeur de Lion pub and what a find it was! CAMRA Pub of the Year for Bath and Borders, the Couer de Lion is nestled in the heart of the city, instantly winning us over with its warm and inviting atmosphere.
The quality and range of drinks is a true highlight of the Coeur de Lion, with very reasonable pricing a definite plus – whether you’re after a classic local cask ale (lots from the local Abbey Ales brewery), or a cocktail (yes – they serve Aperols) there’s something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.
The vibe at the Coeur de Lion is relaxed and laid-back. As Bath’s smallest pub it has a couple of cozy corners and ambient lighting and is an ideal spot to unwind after a long day if you’re lucky enough to find a space.
There’s not a garden but with it’s location down a small side street, punters often gather outside – reminiscent of other city pubs we’ve visited which are popular with the after work crowd.
The great value drinks, high quality and historic atmosphere of the Coeur de Lion ensures it’s place in the Yellow Book.
