Cafe de Sluyswacht is an old slightly lopsided pub located besides a lock on one of the many canals in Amsterdam. Serving a good selection of beers (they had about 10 on tap!) some ciders as well as a simple range of mixed drinks including our beloved Aperol Spritz.
Located next to the canal brings lovely views which they capitalise on with their large terrace. Whilst primarily a drinkers spot, they serve traditional dutch snacks and bar food (you have to try the Bitterballen – crispy deep fried meatballs).
Cafe de Sluyswacht is a great place for an alcohol-infused pitstop whilst exploring Amsterdam and we highly recommend it.
